Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor is looking for a Marketing and Communications Coordinator who will build relationships and tell our stories through social media, print and digital communications.

We are seeking a candidate who can execute creative marketing campaigns and engage our community of students, parents, alumni, donors as well as the broader Ann Arbor Jewish community.

Communications and Marketing Responsibilities

  • Be a natural storyteller who knows what to say, how to write eloquently, and when to use print or digital formats to get the message across.
  • Develop marketing plans and execute them on a daily basis.
  • Speak and communicate effectively with a diversity of people with poise and clarity.
  • Understand core social media channels and their nuanced differences, as well as paid advertising through social media.
  • Create compelling and exciting social media content that connects with people and inspires them to engage.
  • Design eye-catching graphics and video.

Publications Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the production of all publications, marketing materials, and digital advertising campaigns including writing, editing, design, photography, and print management of the following publications:
    • Weekly community email, newsletters, and program pamphlets
    • Fundraising and donor recognition and event materials in partnership with the Director of Development
    • Newspaper articles and/or web blog posts
    • Internal school communications
  • Serve as a webmaster for the School’s web site to ensure consistency with other school communications.
  • In collaboration with other externally facing administrators, represent the school at various gatherings including events on student recruitment and marketing.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2 years of professional work experience.
  • Experience and proven results developing and implementing social content beyond your personal use.
  • Strong graphic design skills for digital and print graphics using Adobe products, such as Creative Cloud.
  • Experience as a writer and editor who is comfortable writing both short-form social captions and longer articles and formal writing.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to take portrait and candid photographs.

Salary is $20,000 – $30,000 depending on experience.
