Repair is building a national Jewish service movement of flourishing Jewish communities that serve in pursuit of a just world. Repair mobilizes young adults to serve in their communities, catalyzes service through deep partnerships within Jewish communal organizations, and inspires people to take action through time-bound thematic national service campaigns. Our mission provides volunteers with an increased connection to meaningful service and learning as a Jewish value, builds capacity for nonprofit partners to meet their missions, and deepens connections across lines of difference.

Position Overview

Repair the World is hiring a Manager of Brand Ambassadors who will create and operationalize tools and systems to strengthen brand awareness and expand reach across the Jewish service movement powered by Repair. In collaboration with our Senior Director of Growth Strategy, strategy team, program teams, and external consultants, this position will provide ongoing training, resources, and messaging for all internal and external stakeholders, equipping brand ambassadors to share enthusiasm about Jewish service and increase brand visibility. This role will succeed based on interpersonal relational skills, combined with clear communication and organizational finesse.

The Manager of Brand Ambassadors reports directly to the Senior Director of Growth Strategy. This is a full-time, exempt position on Repair’s strategy team. This is a remote position with preference for candidates proximal to a Repair-staffed community (Atlanta, Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Colorado, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York).

Position Responsibilities

Train and Support Brand Ambassadors: Working directly with these three external audiences across Repair’s ecosystem (60%)

Participant Ambassadors (alumni, current participants, gen z influencers) with the goal of recruiting more people to serve in the Jewish service movement; raising brand awareness for Jewish service opportunities and Repair the World

  • Training brand ambassadors and equipping them with necessary resources and toolkits to amplify Repair’s brand and the Jewish service movement
  • Working with social media consultant and other stakeholders to identify and collect stories of impact
  • Providing relevant (seasonal, holiday-specific) content created by Repair to individual activators

Invested Ambassadors (board of directors, advisory council members, donors, lay leaders at Jewish Service Alliance partners) with the goal of recruiting more donors and investment in Jewish service; equipping them to talk about Repair and represent us effectively in their networks and communities

  • Creating brand and storytelling trainings and toolkits for invested ambassadors, and providing ongoing updates to share with the board and key donors
  • Gathering quotes, anecdotes, and pictures highlighting specific interests and focus areas for our development team

Partner Ambassadors (Jewish Service Alliance, service partners, national service organizations) with the goal of recruiting more organizations to invest in Jewish service, collaborate with Repair, and expand the Jewish service movement

  • Sharing Repair messaging, brand, and storytelling resources with partner organizations, and collaborate with Repair field activation team to equip each partner based on individual needs
  • Disseminating partner opportunities to other ambassador audiences, and across Repair

Act as Resource Hub for Jewish Service-learning Resources: Collect and disseminate facilitator tools, best practices, messaging priorities, digital and printed assets to brand ambassadors and staff across Repair and Jewish Service Alliance partners (20%)

  • Organizing and managing a communication calendar and schedule for Repair’s Operations, Strategy, and Program teams to foster consistent awareness and activation around key issues and pressing needs facing the Jewish service movement.
  • Distributing organizational swag including shop.werepair.org and supplier relationships
  • Collecting and managing internal and external toolkits for the biggest Jewish service moments to Repair staff and partners (holidays, seasonal observances, end-of-year campaigns, etc)
  • Equiping Repair staff, Jewish Service Alliance, and program partners to represent Repair the World’s brand and Jewish service movement

Be a Public Representative of Repair the World’s Brand: Show up in-person or online to represent Repair at conferences, for media interviews, on social media etc. (20%)

  • Table and host Jewish service-learning programs at national conferences and convenings hosted by Repair’s partners
  • Equip stakeholders and staff to speak on behalf of our programs, partnerships, strategy and growth to media outlets as a part of scheduled and organic press inquiries
  • With support from our Social Media consultant, utilize online platforms to share and collect Repair stories

Position Requirements and Skills

  • 3+ years of professional experience with an emphasis on relational management
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
  • Passion for relationships, mutually beneficial partnerships, and problem-solving
  • Creative problem-solver; able to anticipate and solve problems independently, and follow through on projects to completion
  • Ability to translate organizational jargon- verbally, in writing, and through presentation - into colloquial language
  • Experience with stakeholders at various levels i.e. participants and donors
  • Understanding of the Jewish service landscape, with experience or comprehension of a national organization with local chapters.
  • Experience with Salesforce, or an equivalent CRM, and Monday.com, or an equivalent project management tool, preferred
  • Passion for Repair the World’s mission and organizational values that guide our work with the frame of repairing the world (tikkun olam) leading to the pursuit of justice (tzedek)

Compensation

Compensation at Repair the World is determined based on the salary band for the role and adjusted based on the cost of living where the final candidate resides. For candidates with 3+ years of experience, compensation for this role ranges from $55,000 - $71,000 depending on the candidate’s location. If you have additional experience, let’s talk.

Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation, sick time, personal days and holidays. Employer covers 100% of full-time employee’s health premiums (medical/dental/vision) for most plans and 50% for dependents. Additional benefits include, retirement matching, professional development funds, employer-paid short and long term disability coverage plus access to the Jewish Learning Collaborative and our Economic Access Fund. In addition, employees that have been with Repair for at least six months are eligible for 16 weeks of paid parental leave (pro-rated for employees with Repair less than 6 months).

This position is included in Repair’s staff union-represented collective bargaining unit and specific terms and conditions of employment may be subject to a future collective bargaining agreement between Repair the World and the Repair the World Workers’ union.

Interview Process:

  • Applicants who move forward will have a first-round screening with a member of Repair’s People and Culture team.
  • Applicants that move forward from a first-round interview will have a second-round interview with Repair’s Senior Director of Growth Strategy and Senior Director of Immersive Service. Second round candidates will be asked to complete an assignment before their interview.
  • The final round interview will be with Repair’s Chief Strategy Officer and member of Repair’s program team.
  • Two professional references will be requested before the final round of the interview process.
