Position Overview

Repair the World is hiring a Data Manager who will function as a capacity builder for the Digital & Data Team, supporting Salesforce administration and helping to strengthen a data driven culture at Repair. In collaboration with our Senior Director of Digital Strategy, Data Strategy Senior Manager, and external Salesforce consultants, this position will have the opportunity to drive and improve Salesforce use forward throughout the organization and ensure a strong data-informed culture, leading with a “customer service” mindset with our staff. This role will draw on your knowledge of effective organizational collaboration, combined with robust technological platforms and people-centered process and training.

The Data Manager reports directly to the Senior Director of Digital Strategy. This is a full-time, exempt position on Repair’s strategy team. This is a remote position with preference for candidates proximal to a Repair the World community (Atlanta, Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Colorado, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York). THE START DATE FOR THIS ROLE IS ON OR AROUND OCTOBER 1, 2024.

Position Responsibilities

Salesforce Administration: support Salesforce administration, including data entry, data uploads, troubleshooting, and user assistance (40%)

  • Understand Repair’s complex data model, and be able to use Salesforce reports to ensure accurate internal and external reporting, including supporting users in filtering dashboards or making minor edits to reports.
  • Report quarterly on programmatic metrics, building clear communication around our data at an organization-wide level.
  • Ensure data cleanliness by supporting maintenance efforts for programmatic and development teams and scanning for any human or computer errors.
  • Monitor and support the cleanliness of the program completion dashboard monthly, following up and supporting staff to close programs.
  • Oversee the system’s routine and project-based database maintenance using tools such as Duplicate Check, Apsona, NPSP Health Check, Mogli, etc.

Ongoing Support and Training: Lead and support a strong data-driven culture through Salesforce training for staff, including documentation and facilitated trainings (35%)

  • Handle support requests as they come in: forgotten passwords, process support, data upload needs, report/dashboard creation needs, etc.
  • Onboard all new staff into Salesforce on an ongoing basis.
  • Encourage colleagues to own their data by answering questions with instructions for next time or providing training related to the questions/skills.
  • Craft and revise Salesforce documentation explicitly stating how best to use the system as well as the related organizational processes across program and development.
  • Lead and field user questions during weekly Salesforce Office Hours, including raising key findings to the data team for future system design impact.
  • Proactively create, maintain, and upgrade user documentation for staff, including best practices, user guides, and general tips and tricks.
  • Keep up to date on and plan for new features in Salesforce, FormAssembly, and Salesforce apps, and provide ongoing training as Salesforce implements new features.

External Data Processes: Oversee Repair’s external data collection and program application processes (25%)

  • Ensure the link between Salesforce and FormAssembly is seamless; managing all forms and related Salesforce connectors - and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve form errors, scope and design outlines for new forms, and provide other upgrades as needed.
  • Understand the link between the WordPress website and our FormAssembly account, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and managing user errors.

Position Requirements and Skills

  • 3+ years of professional experience including 1+ years of Salesforce experience
  • Creative problem-solver; able to anticipate and solve problems independently, and follow through on projects to completion
  • Passion for data, analytics, and helping others see how their work can be improved through data driven tools
  • Ability to translate technical jargon- verbally, in writing, and through presentation - into colloquial language
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to follow-through
  • Experience with FormAssembly and its Salesforce Connectors
  • Formal certifications like Salesforce Certified Administrator, Advanced Administrator, App Builder, etc. are preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of the capabilities of Salesforce, or an equivalent CRM, including security controls (profiles, permission sets, public groups, queues, sharing settings), process automation tools (workflows, flows, process builder), and business application development (custom objects, custom fields, page layouts, record types, apps, tabs)
  • Experience with Monday.com, or an equivalent project management tool, preferred
  • Passion for Repair the World’s mission and organizational values that guide our work with the frame of repairing the world (tikkun olam) leading to the pursuit of justice (tzedek)

Compensation

Compensation at Repair the World is determined based on the salary band for the role and adjusted based on the cost of living where the final candidate resides. For candidates with 3+ years of Salesforce administrator experience, compensation for this role ranges from $55,000 - $81,000 depending on the candidate’s location. Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation, sick time, personal days and holidays. Employer covers 100% of full-time employee’s health premiums (medical/dental/vision) for most plans and 50% for dependents. Additional benefits include, retirement matching, professional development funds, employer-paid short and long term disability coverage plus access to the Jewish Learning Collaborative and our Economic Access Fund. In addition, employees that have been with Repair for at least six months are eligible for 16 weeks of paid parental leave (pro-rated for employees with Repair less than 6 months).

This position is included in Repair’s staff union-represented collective bargaining unit and specific terms and conditions of employment may be subject to a future collective bargaining agreement between Repair the World and the Repair the World Workers’ union.
