Job Description

The Specialist, Marketing + Communications is a full-time, early career professional position reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing. The Specialist will assist in articulating the brand and telling the story of OneTable and will work with all of OneTable’s programs and across the OneTable team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Oversee internal communications and language including:
    • Monthly team talking points;
    • Language approval needs;
    • Internal toolkits, style guides, and templates
    • Request forms and workflows related to Marketing + Communications.
  • Supervise email and email platforms, including:
    • Implementing email marketing strategies for each/all OneTable programs;
    • Drafting the SideDish newsletter in collaboration with the Field Team, Jewish Learning, National Partnerships, and more;
    • Managing all email requests;
    • Troubleshooting issues arising with email processes and platforms.
  • Contribute to collateral and publications for all programs, including:
    • Identifying community profiles and stories and conducting interviews;
    • Drafting articles and profiles.
  • Collect user-generated content from surveys and Slack channels, as well as:
    • Obtaining permissions as required for assets and quotes;
    • Storing and organizing content for team use.
  • Assist with external press and interview requests, including;
    • Working with the Field Team to identify hosts and guests for stories;
    • Selecting photo options for external publications;
    • Drafting talking points for OneTable staff preparing for interviews
  • Other duties as assigned.

KEY ATTRIBUTES/SKILL SET

  • 0-2 years of professional experience in communications or journalism.
    • Includes internships and/or student-related work.
    • Association or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work some evenings (including Fridays) and weekend hours

Compensation:

The starting salary for this position starts at $48,000 plus the following benefits:

  • Health insurance — medical, dental, and vision insurance currently through Aetna; OneTable pays 85% of the healthcare premium for each employee and 50% for dependents.

    • The office is closed for all major Jewish holidays and most federal holidays.
    • OneTable offices are also closed the July 4th week and December 25 – January 1.
    • As an organization rooted in the mission of spreading Shabbat, we know the importance of having time on Fridays to start winding down and preparing for our favorite weekly holiday. The OneTable offices close at 4:00 pm (local time) every Friday and at 12:00 pm on the first Friday of each month.

  • This position is an exempt salaried position, which is not eligible for overtime.

Location:

OneTable offers a flexible hybrid work policy that allows you to work from anywhere in the United States. Full-time employees may choose to work from an office space (provided by OneTable) or fully remote.
