JSL is looking for an actively engaged Life Enrichment Director to join our team and enhance the lives of our residents. This position plans, organizes, and directs; educational, social, wellness activities and events for residents of Jewish Senior Life at Fleischman Residence/Blumberg Plaza.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates and develops interpersonal activities for greater socialization so that residents can thrive in a communal living setting.

  • Plan, organize, and direct a program of activities, which provides opportunity for entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression and fulfills basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Promote activities within the community.
  • Manage resident activity assessments.
  • Attend family care conferences; building relationships with both families and residents.
  • Create an ongoing calendar of activities.
  • Maintain attendance records.
  • Develop and distribute a monthly calendar of events.
  • Assist with employee enrichment events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties

Education and Skills

  • College coursework or degree in therapeutic recreation or related discipline preferred. Certification a plus.
  • Two year's experience in a social or recreational program, preferably with seniors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of team members, residents, and family members.
  • High degree of interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Considerable initiative, judgment, and leadership.
  • Problem solving and reasoning abilities.
  • Creative and energetic.
