JSL is seeking a creative, organized, and proactive Marketing & Communications Coordinator to lead day-to-day execution of marketing efforts across our senior living communities and development initiatives. This role bridges strategy and implementation, supporting lead generation for new residents, while also elevating donor and volunteer engagement through strong content and cohesive campaigns.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing and Sales, this is an ideal role for a skilled communicator who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to make a meaningful impact at a mission-driven nonprofit.
What You’ll Do
Marketing & Lead Generation
- Manage and update JSL’s website using WordPress Elementor with a focus on user experience, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
- Create and schedule social media content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) to promote events, lifestyle, and thought leadership.
- Plan and execute email campaigns and newsletters, targeting prospective residents and community partners.
- Support lead generation efforts through collaboration with the admissions and sales teams.
- Ensure brand consistency across digital and print materials.
Fundraising & Development Communications
- Partner with the development team to create promotional materials for fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, and volunteer outreach.
- Write and edit donor communications, impact stories, and stewardship messages.
- Support marketing efforts for events, annual giving campaigns, and recognition initiatives.
- Manage donor information and improve fundraising effectiveness using Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, including entering and maintaining donor data, tracking donations, and generating reports.
- Manage weekly newsletter.
Project & Content Coordination
- Maintain a shared marketing calendar and coordinate timelines for cross-departmental initiatives.
- Draft and proof written content for various audiences, ensuring a consistent voice and tone.
- Collaborate with internal staff and outside vendors (designers, photographers, printers, etc.) to execute deliverables on time.
- Assist with ongoing updates to internal communication systems and collateral.
Qualifications
What You Bring
- 2–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field (nonprofit or senior living experience a plus).
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Experience managing websites (especially WordPress/Elementor), social media, and email marketing platforms.
- Ability to balance creative thinking with deadline-driven execution.
- Organized, collaborative, and able to juggle multiple priorities with grace.
- Passion for community engagement, storytelling, and making a difference in people’s lives.
