SUPERVISOR: Chief Operating Officer

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Case Manager 2, Intake/Training Coordinator, Director of Residential Services

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

This role leads the strategic direction and operations of Gesher’s continuum of residential and care services. This role works closely with both internal and external programs and departments to maintain the agency’s portfolio of residences in Oakland County ensuring that the residences are safe, comfortable and fully licensed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a human service or related field of study.

Other:

  • 3+ years related experience in residential care.
  • 3+ years of experience in working with people with disabilities.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated writing and computer skills in completing narrative reports.
  • Experience with an Automated Payables System strongly preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage purchasing, selling, and maintenance of portfolio of residential properties.
  • Develop and oversee procedures for staffing and supporting the needs of residential occupants.
  • Oversee and adjust levels of care, public/private funding, and authorizations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal staff to maintain and improve residential properties.
  • Complete utilization, key performance indicators, budgetary, and licensing reports as required.
  • Develop, implement, and train staff on residential standard operating procedures and internal/external reporting
  • Partner with HR department to screen, onboard, train, and maintain department staff.
  • Monitor, inspect, and address home concerns on a regular basis to ensure licensing is maintained.
  • Complete and oversee department performance management, performance improvement, and required training.
  • Oversee the intake, discharge, and hold status of residential customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supplemental Duties:

  • Ensure all reports, procedures and licensing requirements are completed in a timely manner.
  • Serve on Agency committee(s) as appointed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental conditions:

  • Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.

Physical requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting in required.
