GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Clubhouse Director will have strategic and operational responsibility for the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse Director will have a deep knowledge of the Clubhouse Model and preferably experience in a leadership position in an accredited Clubhouse.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

A Master’s degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, other Human Services field) with proper licensure, certification, or registration by State of Michigan or a national organization to provide health care services, and one-year experience working at a Clubhouse accredited by Clubhouse International; or

Consideration given to a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (same as above), with appropriate licensure/certification/registration, and two years’ experience working at an accredited Clubhouse.

  • Must have experience and training in the clubhouse model
  • Participate in necessary Clubhouse trainings
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – the ability to motivate and encourage others
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Computer skills
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving record
  • Background check and TB test required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, support, and manage Clubhouse staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Develop and enhance systems to monitor evaluate, and assure program integrity and fidelity to International Clubhouse Standards, ensuring the highest quality of services are provided.
  • Hire and train new personnel, interns, and volunteers.
  • Supervise overall financial management of the Clubhouse budget.
  • Ensure that all grant reporting and service contracts, such as Medicaid and other billing, are completed in a timely manner to maintain revenue.
  • Work with donors, Advisory Board members, staff, and members to promote the growth and development of the Clubhouse and its standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments and programs within Gesher to support the needs of the Clubhouse and the agency.
  • Ensure a work-ordered day and provide guidance for daily meetings.
  • Ensure regular communication via Clubhouse newsletter and social media.
  • Host tours and support the intake of new referrals to the Clubhouse.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental conditions:

  • Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.

Physical requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting in required.
