Job Summary

The mandate of the Volunteer Department is to ensure the recruitment, screening, orientation, education, training, retention, and recognition of volunteers of all ages, and of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds who are involved in all aspects of the Centre. It determines organizational needs and responds by creating stimulating and meaningful volunteer opportunities to engage capable and caring individuals to support the Centre’s mission, programs and services. We are currently looking for a Volunteer department Associate – Outreach and Recognition. This role is responsible to outreach, promote and engage volunteers, develop partnerships, and recognize volunteers for their involvement and contributions.

Duties

➢ Responsible to oversee all outreach efforts for volunteer engagement that responds to the needs of the Centre.
➢ Recruitment and promotion of diverse, multigenerational, multi-cultural volunteers of all ages
➢ Participate in creation of innovative new approaches for outreach and recognition.
➢ Oversee efforts to expand corporate volunteerism and social engagement.
➢ Expansion of partnerships for innovative volunteer opportunities.
➢ Oversee the recognition of volunteers including all appreciation events.
➢ Assist the Volunteer department in other related tasks.

Education, Knowledge and Skills

➢ Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
➢ Advanced knowledge in Office 365 including MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point. Zoom and Webex
➢ Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and French
➢ Minimum 3 years relevant experience
➢ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
➢ Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
➢ Excellent organizational and innovation skills
➢ Experience with the 50+ population a strong asset
➢ Previous experience with volunteers an asset
