Human Resource Business Partner
Salary Range: $70K - $75K

The HRBP will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our recruiting, sourcing and on-boarding processes as well as our core training programs, initiatives and strategies to support the organization's goals. This position requires a strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, employee relations, and talent management. This position will lead BBYO’s Fellowship Program that focuses specifically on college graduates to join a 2-year cohort. You will act as trusted staff to both employees and leadership, providing insights, guidance, and support to the program.
You will collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization to implement programs that drive employee growth, engagement, and retention, ensuring that early career employees receive the mentorship and development opportunities they need to thrive. As a member of the HR team, you will work closely with leadership and employees to foster a positive work culture, ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, and drive employee engagement and performance. This position will report to the Chief People Officer of BBYO and will be a part of the Talent Team.
Shaping the Future for Teens and Yourself:
As an HRBP, a typical day will include:
- Design, launch, and manage early career development programs, including internships, and entry-level talent initiatives.
- Partner with the Senior Program Manager, Talent Pipeline to assess talent needs and align early career programs with business objectives.
- Oversee recruitment efforts for early career talent, including university recruiting, campus events, and job fairs.
- Conduct interviews and guide the interview process through to hire.
- Facilitate core training programs in person and on-line.
- Support early career employees in their professional development by identifying learning. opportunities, mentorship programs, and career advancement pathways.
- Collaborate with managers and leaders to establish clear performance expectations, development goals, and feedback loops for early career talent.
- Monitor the success and engagement of the Fellowship, adjusting as necessary to improve outcomes.
- Develop strategies to retain top talent, focusing on career growth opportunities and effective onboarding experiences.
- Provide regular reports to leadership regarding the effectiveness of early career programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on best practices for managing and developing early career talent.
Essential Skills for Making a Lasting Impact:
- Washington, DC preferred, open to remote locations
- Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, or a related field, project management, organizational development, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on talent management, early career development, or learning and development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, ATS and background check systems preferred; Airtable knowledge is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships.
- Knowledge of the Jewish community and familiarity with Jewish nonprofit organizations preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to drive decision-making and measure success.
- Travel Requirement: 15% +; including Staff Conference, BBYO International Convention and Job Fairs

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Standing/Walking – The need to remain on your feet and/or walk for long periods of time on various terrains.
- Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling – Moving objects and carts and having the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Reaching – Stretching to reach objects or areas, often above shoulders or across the body.
- Bending/Stooping/Kneeling/Crawling - Frequent bending or stooping to pick things up or work in lower areas. Kneeling or crawling to access equipment or work in confined spaces.
- Manual Handling – Repetitive movements like sorting, stacking, or manipulating materials.
- Work Environment – Ability to work in specific environments like extreme temperatures, noisy areas, outdoors or confined spaces.
